Title: Cafeteria CookReports To: Cafeteria Kitchen ManagerSummary: The Cafeteria Cook supports the daily operation of the school cafeteria through food preparation, meal service, sanitation, and kitchen support. This position helps ensure meals are prepared and served in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner while maintaining high standards of food quality, cleanliness, and hospitality. The Cafeteria Cook works closely with the Kitchen Manager and cafeteria team to provide a positive dining experience for students, staff, and families.It is desirable that church employees regularly attend worship services (virtually or physically). By doing so, they will be more in touch with Village Baptist Church’s life, activities, and patterns.ResponsibilitiesAssist with daily food preparation, cooking, and meal assemblyHelp ensure meals are prepared and ready for service according to established schedulesServe food to students, staff, and visitors in a friendly and professional mannerFollow food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene standards at all timesMaintain clean, organized, and stocked workstationsAssist with setup, service, and cleanup of meal periodsSupport portioning, packaging, and presentation of menu itemsWork collaboratively with the Kitchen Manager and cafeteria staff to maintain efficient operationsAssist with inventory organization, stocking, and storage of food and suppliesContribute to a positive and team-oriented work environmentAssist in other areas of the cafeteria, including food preparation, serving, stocking, dishwashing, and cleanup, as needed to support the teamPerform other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager or Director of Cafeteria OperationsQualificationsMinimum educational requirement: High School Diploma or equivalentServSafe Certification required or willingness to obtain and maintain certification upon hireExperience in food service, commercial kitchen operations, cafeteria service, or a related field preferredBasic knowledge of food preparation and serving practicesBasic knowledge of food safety and sanitation proceduresAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentStrong work ethic and attention to detailPositive attitude and willingness to learnAbility to follow directions and work effectively as part of a teamMust successfully pass all required background screenings for employment in a school settingPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand for extended periodsAbility to lift up to 30 poundsAbility to work in a kitchen environment, including heat, noise, and frequent movementVisionConnect People to Christ and His FamilyMissionWe Exist to Fulfill the Great CommissionValuesHoliness (1 Peter 1:16)Humility (Philippians 2:3)Honor (Romans 2:10)Honesty (Ephesians 4:15)Hospitality (Hebrews 13:2)Hustle (Colossians 3:23)Hunger (Proverbs 1:5)Health (1 Timothy 4:8)Help (Philippians 2:4)Humor (Proverbs 17:22)Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, approximately 7:30AM -3:30PM during the school year, 10-month employee #J-18808-Ljbffr
