Locums Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Springfield, MO Why This Role

• St. Jude-affiliated Pediatric Hematology/Oncology program
• Combined inpatient and outpatient coverage
• Up to 15 days of coverage per month
• Multiple physicians may be considered
Assignment Details
• Start Date: ASAP following credentialing
• Current Authorization: Through February 2027
• Specific Dates: Pending provider availability
• Weekday Hours: Monday ÄìFriday, 8:00 AM Äì4:30 PM
• Weeknight Call: 4:30 PM Äì8:00 AM
• Weekend Call: Friday at 4:30 PM ÄìSunday at 8:00 AM
• Call Rotation: Coverage may be assigned in seven-day blocks
• Setting: Inpatient and outpatient
• Patient Volume: Approximately five to 10 per shift
• Call Response Time: 30 minutes
• Phone Consults: Approximately two per call period
• Admissions While on Call: Approximately one to three
• EMR: Epic
• Credentialing: Approximately 60 Äì90 days
• Temporary Privileges: Available
Requirements
• Board-Certified Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist
• Active Missouri license or active IMLC Letter of Qualification
• Pediatric Hematology/Oncology fellowship training
• Bone marrow biopsy proficiency required
• Lumbar puncture proficiency required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS
• Ability to provide scheduled clinical hours plus overnight and weekend call
Clinical Details
• Manage Pediatric Hematology and Oncology patients in the clinic
• Round on assigned inpatients while on call
• Perform bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures
• Evaluate new Oncology diagnoses and coordinate admissions
• Hospitalists handle most overnight admissions except new Oncology diagnoses
• Collaborate with seven RNs, one MA, two APPs, and five office staff
• No APP, resident, or teaching supervision responsibilities
