Salary: $49,753.60 - $62,192.00 annually Location: Various locations within the City of El Paso, TX Job Type: Unclassified Job Number: U5867-0626 Department: Mexican American Cultural Center (MACC) Opening Date: 06/11/2026 Closing Date: 06/23/2026 11:59 PM Mountain FLSA: Non-Exempt Maximum Applicants: 75 General Purpose Under general supervision, plan, develop, promote, organize, and evaluate a range of community, art, and cultural initiatives, programs, and events for the Mexican‑American Cultural Center (MACC). Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and implement arts and cultural programs, special projects, and events; conduct field research; design promotional materials; and maintain activity records. Build and strengthen community partnerships, brand recognition, and support for MACC programs by liaising with community groups, educational organizations, and agencies. Coordinate marketing and public relations activities, including newsletters, press releases, speeches, social media publications, and event promotion. Attend city and community events, meetings, conferences, and represent MACC through presentations and outreach activities. Perform special project duties such as event arrangements, procurement of supplies, and monitoring of expenditures. Supervise assigned staff: schedule and assign work, conduct performance appraisals, provide training, enforce personnel rules, and recommend hiring or other HR actions. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in Chicano Studies, Hispanic Studies, Latin American Studies, Border Studies, Latino Studies, Museum Studies, Arts Administration, Art Education, Art History, Education, History, Business, Public Administration, or a related field. Minimum of two years of experience in a museum, nonprofit arts or cultural organization, school, or educational institution. Valid Texas Class C driver’s license or equivalent from another state. Strong communication, organizational, and project‑management skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively with community partners. Note: This is an unclassified contract position.
