Make a positive impact supporting students as a Behavior Intervention Specialist in a dynamic school setting for the 2025/2026 school year. This full-time, onsite contract position involves collaborating with an experienced team, including another BIS and a Special Education Administrator. You will play a key role consulting and implementing positive behavior interventions across 2-3 assigned school sites within the district. Typical hours are 8:30am to 4:10pm, totaling 37.5 hours per week.

Qualifications & Credentials:

• Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), Special Education Teacher (Tier 3 or 4 MN license), or School Social Worker (with appropriate MN credentials)
• Special Education teacher applicants must hold a Tier 3 or 4 MN Special Education Teaching license (Tier 1/2 licenses require district sponsorship, which is not available for contract roles)
• Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with school staff, administrators, and families
• Strong skills conducting functional behavior assessments, developing and implementing positive behavior support plans, and utilizing data-driven practices
• Experience with crisis response, de-escalation, and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs)
• RBTs do not qualify for this position

Key Responsibilities:

• Consult with staff to design and implement positive behavioral interventions and supports
• Conduct functional behavior assessments and utilize data to guide programming
• Support and monitor student progress, reinforce positive behaviors, and redirect inappropriate behaviors
• Deliver staff training on behavioral strategies and ensure ongoing support in the classroom
• Help maintain a safe, positive environment for students and staff, with crisis intervention as needed
• Ensure compliance with district policies and special education requirements
• Perform additional duties as directed by the Director of Special Education
