Luther Lanard, PC  is a boutique law firm based in Newport Beach, CA, specializing in Franchise law, looking for a Dallas/Fort Worth-based attorney. We are experiencing tremendous growth and are looking for a remote or onsite full-time litigation attorney with at least 4 years of business litigation experience (experience in Franchise law is a plus), managing your own caseload and taking cases to trial. We provide structured training and mentorship to get you up to speed.

You must have impeccable writing skills, a fervor for finding creative resolutions, and a desire to learn. We resolve most disputes without having to file a lawsuit or arbitration demand. This role is ideal for someone wanting to keep their skills sharp and stay honed in their craft, but needs flexibility in their professional life. 

Candidates should be able to work full-time and be local to anywhere in the DFW area.

• You won't just be drafting documents in a vacuum. You'll interact directly with clients, understand their businesses, and deliver customized legal solutions that actually make sense for their situations.

• You'll run your own matters, but you're not on an island. Our team is collaborative, and leadership is accessible when you need to strategize or get a second opinion. 

Reasonable Expectations  

• Target 1,750 billable hours annually (including 100 creditable non-billable hours), with plenty of room for growth and performance-based bonuses. You'll also receive origination credit for the business you bring in.

$140,000 - $170,000 yearly

What You'll Do  

Own Your Cases  

• Independently handle litigation and pre-lawsuit dispute matters from initial client contact through resolution. 
• Identify claims and help clients navigate their options with clear, strategic advice. 
• Draft demand letters, motions, settlement agreements, and other critical documents. 
• Effectively confer with franchisors and opposing counsel. 
• Set and manage client expectations with professionalism and clarity. 
• Develop cases for trial and arbitration hearings.

What We're Looking For  

Required Qualifications:  

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. 
• Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar. 
• Minimum 4 years of legal experience in litigation required.
