Senior Data EngineerWe are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to design, build, and scale data systems that power analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making across the organization. In this role, you'll own core data infrastructure, enable reliable data pipelines, and partner closely with product, analytics, and engineering teams to ensure data is trustworthy, accessible, and scalable.If you enjoy working at the intersection of data, infrastructure, and product and want to have a meaningful impact on how data is used across the business, this role is for you.About the RoleDesign, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows.Develop and optimize data models that support analytics, reporting, and downstream applications.Own and evolve the data platform, including data warehouses, data lakes, and streaming systems.Ensure data quality, reliability, and observability across pipelines.Partner with product managers, analysts, and engineers to define data requirements and deliver trusted datasets.Implement best practices for data governance, security, and access control.Optimize data performance and cost at scale.Participate in architectural discussions and mentor junior engineers.Troubleshoot and resolve complex data issues in production environments.About You5+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related role.Strong proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala.Experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines.Hands-on experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Databricks).Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Dagster, Prefect).Familiarity with batch and streaming data systems (Kafka, Pub/Sub, Kinesis).Experience working in cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure).Strong understanding of data modeling, data quality, and analytics use cases.Comfortable working in Agile, cross-functional environments.Bonus SkillsExperience with dbt and analytics engineering workflows.Familiarity with data observability tools (Monte Carlo, Great Expectations).Experience with real-time or near-real-time data processing.Knowledge of privacy, compliance, and data governance frameworks.Experience supporting machine learning or data science workflows.Background in cost optimization for large-scale data systems.Why You Should ApplyBuild and own data systems that drive business-critical insights.Work with modern data tooling and large-scale datasets.Collaborate with experienced engineers, analysts, and product leaders.Influence the long-term data architecture and best practices.Work EnvironmentWe offer a flexible hybrid work environment for employees located in the San Francisco Bay Area, South Bay, and Peninsula regions.
