Job Summary: The Sushi Line-Cook at Noriko is responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of sushi handrolls in a fast-paced, customer-oriented restaurant environment. This role requires speed and quality in sushi preparation, an understanding of Japanese cuisine, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Sushi Preparation:
   • Crafting Sushi: Prepare handrolls, nigiris, crudos, and small appetizers using fresh, high-quality ingredients such as fish, rice, nori, and various vegetables or specialty fillings.
   • Quality Control: Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and used within their optimal time to maintain flavor and food safety standards.
   • Cleanliness: Maintain a clean and orderly work station, adhering to all sanitation regulations to ensure a safe dining environment.
2. Menu Development:
   
   • Adaptation: Modify dishes based on customer feedback or dietary restrictions like gluten-free or vegetarian options.
3. Team Collaboration:
   
   • Support: Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff during peak times to ensure smooth operation and timely service.
4. Compliance and Safety:
   • Health Regulations: Follow all local health codes and regulations regarding food handling, storage, and preparation.
   • Safety Practices: Implement and uphold safety practices to avoid accidents or injuries in the kitchen.

Requirements:

• Experience: 1-year. We will train and teach you our ways!
• Skills: Proficiency in sushi rice preparation, fish handling, and knife skills. Knowledge of various sushi styles and ingredients a plus!
• Certification: Food Handler’s Certification is required.
• Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a hot kitchen environment.
• Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills for customer interaction and team coordination.
