Embedded Software Engineer

Software Engineer - Embedded LinuxCollins Aerospace is seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Software Engineering Contractor to work with our Applied Research and Technology (ART) Microelectronics Technology team. Your work will contribute to the development of cutting-edge defense solutions across Mission Systems, leveraging your expertise developing and supporting embedded Linux Board Support Package (BSP) and driver development.What You Will Do:Adhere to all applicable Collins Engineering Development and Quality processes, procedures, instructions and guidelinesParticipate in Agile team meetings and planning activities, as required to support programs covered by this work planContribute to the design, coding, testing, delivery and ongoing support for embedded Linux software systems in areas such as build toolchain, kernel, root filesystem, bootloader, device drivers, and BSP for a wide variety of hardware boardsParticipate in root cause analysis and resolution of complex hardware-software issues.Management of change request and task assignments through JiraQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor's degree (Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)) and 5 years of prior relevant experience OR Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience OR In absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is requiredA minimum of 3 years professional experience with embedded Linux device driversProficiency with embedded C/C++Experience with scripting languages (Bash and Python)Experience with board bring-up and target hardware integrationExperience with debugging and root cause investigations using hardware schematics and tools such as logic analyzer and WiresharkQualifications We Prefer:Excellent communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work in a collaborative environmentExperience with GIT and SVN version control systemsExperience packaging custom Linux distribution with BuildrootDevelopment experience Agile methodologies and DevSecOpsAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.
