Requisition Number: 29151 Company: Westinghouse Electric Co Location: Rock Hill, SC, US, 29730 (Nearest Major Market: Charlotte; Nearest Secondary Market: South Carolina) About The Role As a Senior Civil Structural Engineer you will support civil and structural design activities, including structural systems evaluation for steel members, reinforced concrete, and composite steel, resolving technical issues for the design of building structures. You will report to the Manager of BOP Design and Module Fabrication Support for Building Engineering & Physical Design. The role is hybrid and based in Rock Hill, SC. Key Responsibilities Design and develop infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, and buildings, ensuring safety and efficiency Conduct site visits to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications Evaluate structural systems like steel members, reinforced concrete, composite steel Resolve technical issues for building structure design, fabrication, assembly, and construction phases Provide technical justification for design changes and troubleshoot emergent issues On‑site support at utilities, sites, and smaller projects Use ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, GTSTRUDL Maintain software compliance records and close engineering corrective actions Learn industry civil/structural codes and standards such as ACI, AISC, ASCE, and AWS Sketch and markup using AutoCAD or similar CAD software Document design change proposals, revisions, new documents, and drawing generation Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering 5+ years of experience in civil/structural engineering Experience in civil/structural evaluations and design engineering Interest in nuclear and potential pursuit of FE/EIT or PE certification Proficiency with tools such as ANSYS, LS‑DYNA, GTSTRUDL or similar Salary Base salary range: $85,200 to $106,500 per year, dependent on experience, qualifications, and skills.
