Outside Sales

Position Summary The primary function of the Outside Sales position is to be responsible for all sales activities from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. This person will develop and implement the agreed‑upon Company Marketing Plan and work toward the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long‑term account goals in line with branch vision and values. Training (Product Knowledge) Drywall Insulation Metal studs for drywall Ceiling systems Construction tools Construction safety items Drywall compound Accessories for the drywall industry Responsibilities Responsible for all steps of the sales process, including preparing action plans by accounts and product line. Effectively search and follow through on sales leads and new customers. Identify and execute on opportunities for up‑sell and cross‑sell. Establish rapport with customers, building long‑term, repeat customer relationships. Assist the customer in buying decisions with proficient product knowledge. Provide timely and accurate competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval. Maintain accurate records of sales activity, sales, and pricing. Gather competitive market and pricing information. Qualifications Strong Microsoft Office skills. Ability to self‑manage is critical and extensive experience in supplier relationship management. Knowledge of building materials and construction industry strongly preferred. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Experience with Excel preferred. 3–5 years of sales experience preferred. Occasionally move about inside the office to access files and office machinery. Operate basic office machinery. Communicate with team and management and exchange accurate information. Cognitive Skills Problem solve and prioritize tasks. Manage stress depending on deadlines and ongoing projects. Multitask and analyze sales and financial information. Communicate solutions quickly if problems occur. Demonstrate high degree of sound judgment and initiative.
