Custodian

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Custodian at Elliott County Primary. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This full-time position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Responsibilities Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas. Ensure that all cleaning supplies and equipment are used and stored safely and effectively. Monitor and restock cleaning supplies as needed to ensure adequate inventory levels. Report any maintenance or safety issues to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner. Assist with setting up and taking down furniture and equipment for events and activities. Conduct periodic deep cleaning tasks as scheduled, including window washing, carpet cleaning, and floor maintenance. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials. Collaborate with school staff to address specific cleaning needs and maintain a positive school environment. Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred but not required. Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety procedures. Ability to lift and move heavy objects, and perform physical tasks for extended periods. Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Good communication skills and a positive attitude towards teamwork. Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening as required by school district policies. Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
