Description: Facility is a freestanding emergency department providing emergency care. The facility has 12 emergency department beds. The facility offers diagnostic imaging, CT, and ultrasound imaging. Travelers must have a permanent address more than 50 miles outside of the home unit. Average patient census is approximately 28 patients per day. Emergency patients include those with motor vehicle collisions, shortness of breath, falls, injuries, and deep vein thrombosis. Technologists cover both diagnostic and CT imaging for dual requests. Typically, 2-3 technologists are staffed during the same shift, including one ultrasound technologist and 2 dual DX/CT technologists. Technology used includes an EMR system, PACS, GE CT Scanner, and Shimadzu XR equipment. Technologists may take on-call shifts with a requirement of 2 nights a month for two freestanding emergency department facilities. Technologists have the opportunity to choose their on-call nights. Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays. Requests for time off must go through management. Shift times are from 0700 to 1930 and 1900 to 0730. The work environment is team-oriented.
