(South Mountain) Noon Aide/Recess Monitor - Part-Time, 3 hours (October Start)

Position: Noon Aide/Recess Monitor Location: South Mountain Employment Type: Part-Time, Non-Exempt Salary Range: $17.00/hour Hours: Monday-Friday; 10:15 AM-1:15 PM HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE AT SUN VALLEY ACADEMY As the Noon Aide/Recess Monitor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable recess experience for our students. You will be working primarily outdoors and will be responsible for supervising students during recess. Your responsibilities will include: Provide attentive supervision during recess, and share any challenges or unusual observations with teachers and school personnel. Paying special attention to safety, especially during changing weather conditions or other unique circumstances. Be ready for an active role, involving extended periods of standing, walking, and stooping. Encourage and assist students in gathering materials, games, balls, and other items for activities. Quickly report any injuries or unusual situations to the professional staff to ensure prompt attention and care. Cultivate warm and positive interactions with our scholars, creating an encouraging and friendly environment. Gently guide students away from inappropriate behavior and ensure they transition between activities in an orderly manner. Conduct daily checks of the playground, addressing any potential hazards to ensure a safe play area. Be prepared to respond appropriately to any emergencies.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent One (1) year experience working with children Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in a school setting or similar environment Basic first aid and CPR certification (Must be tested and obtained from in-person course)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to stoop, kneel, and crouch. Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
