Join our dedicated team as a Child Nutrition Worker, where you will play a vital role in providing nutritious, balanced meals to children in an educational setting. This energetic position involves preparing and serving food, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and ensuring that every child receives quality care and attention during mealtimes. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster a positive dining experience that supports students' health and well-being.

This job schedule is from 6:30 AM to 2:30 PM Monday-Friday. The job is a 10 month position, functioning with the school calendar (August-May), but paid equally across 12 months so no checks are missed during the summer months outside of school.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary guidelines and safety standards
• Assist with food handling, portioning, and presentation to ensure appealing and healthy servings
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas, including sanitizing surfaces and proper disposal of waste
• Support students during mealtimes, encouraging good manners and fostering a welcoming atmosphere
• Follow food safety protocols diligently to prevent contamination or accidents
• Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies and notifying supervisors of shortages
• Collaborate with staff to ensure smooth meal service operations during busy periods

Qualifications

• Prior experience in food service, catering, or the food industry is highly desirable
• Background in child nutrition programs is a plus
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with children, staff, and visitors
• Knowledge of food handling safety standards and sanitation procedures is preferred
• Experience working in a restaurant or hospitality environment is beneficial
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adhere to health regulations
• Demonstrated teamwork skills with a proactive attitude towards supporting colleagues and students
