Registered Nurse (RN) - NICU

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) with NICU experience to join our dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team. The ideal candidate will provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill newborns and their families, ensuring the highest quality of care in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specialized nursing care to neonatal patients, including those requiring ventilatory support and central line management.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Float to Mother-Baby and Labor & Delivery units as needed to provide care for newborns.
• Participate in the care of well babies on the mother-baby unit while ensuring the safety and wellbeing of new mothers.
• Advocate for patient safety and support patient transition and discharge processes.
• Provide education and support to families of critically ill newborns.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a NICU setting.
• Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) are required.
• Strong communication and critical thinking skills, with the ability to work independently and multitask effectively.
• Experience with ventilation support and central line insertion is preferred.

Working Conditions

Shifts will rotate between day and night, with a typical schedule of 12 hours and may include every other weekend. Nurses are expected to work an additional two shifts in a six-week period. Adherence to dress code policy including wearing navy scrubs is mandatory.

Unit Information

The NICU is a Level III high-risk facility equipped to handle the most critically ill infants. Our care team includes OB/GYN, Family Practice, and Nurse Midwives, with access to Neonatology experts and 24/7 anesthesiology. Our facility also offers neonatal transport services.

Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care departments. Candidates must be willing to comply with this and other policies to maintain patient safety and care standards.
