Journeyman Electrician - Commercial Projects

About This RoleJoin our team as a Journeyman Electrician based in Plano, TX, working commercial jobs across the Dallas-Fort Worth area. You'll work under a Master Electrician, lead apprentices on-site, troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, and keep projects running safely and on schedule. This role is hands-on and fast-paced. Expect varied work conditions (outdoors, evenings, weekends) and steady commercial assignments. Pay range is $19-$46/hr plus per diem. Candidates must provide their own transportation and hold a current Texas journeyman license.What You'll DoTest, diagnose and repair electrical systems using voltmeters, ohmmeters, oscilloscopes and other specialized toolsLead, direct and coordinate work for apprentices (typically 3-4) to complete jobs safely and to codeRead blueprints, electrical schematics and code books; lay out work and follow equipment schedulesDocument testing, troubleshooting steps, final diagnoses and repairs clearly and accuratelyRespond to emergency calls, assess safety, and perform timely repairs or triage as neededMaintain and inspect tools/equipment; report defects and follow company safety and quality proceduresWhat We're Looking ForCurrent (non-expired) Texas Journeyman Electrician licenseCompletion of a 4-year apprenticeship program or equivalent trade school experience preferredProven troubleshooting skills on commercial circuits; able to work on energized circuits while following OSHA and company rulesComfortable reading blueprints, code books, and equipment schedulesLeadership experience directing apprentices and coordinating crew tasksValid driver's license, clean driving record and reliable transportation to DFW job sites; must pass background check and drug screenQualificationsTexas Journeyman Electrician license (current)OSHA 30 and/or OSHA 10 certificationBilingual: English required; Spanish a plusAbility to pass criminal background check and drug testValid driver's license and clean driving recordTrade references available upon requestWhat We OfferPay range $19-$46/hr plus per diem for qualifying assignmentsOvertime opportunities on evenings and weekendsPaid safety training (site-specific and required pre-start safety sessions)Consistent commercial work across the DFW areaPath for advancement to foreman/supervisor rolesReady to Apply?Create your Skillit profile and let Sam, your AI assistant, connect you with top contractors.Apply NowNot Another Job BoardSkillit connects craft workers directly with contractors hiring for your trade.
