Position Summary The division houses Art, Graphic Arts, Animation, Audio Video, and Digital Media. MCC instructors are higher‑education professionals who champion student learning, engaging and inspiring students through innovative teaching and learning pedagogies. They assess student learning to ensure success, stay abreast of discipline trends, collaborate within the college as discipline experts, and participate in college committees to promote the college to prospective students. Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and Concourse syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students. Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments. Provide feedback and evaluate students' performance throughout the learning process, which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary. Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course‑related data. Use educational technology (i.e., course management platform such as Canvas). Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results. Maintain currency in professional field. Work cooperatively within the department, the division, and throughout the college in striving for educational excellence. Required Qualifications Course specific minimum qualifications (approved annually by the Board of Trustees, available in all Academic Division Offices). Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds. Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem‑solving skills.
