Biostatistician II Department: Psychiatry Location: UT MAIN CAMPUS Hours: 40 hours per week Start Date: Apr 27, 2026 Duration: Expected to continue Overview Under the direction of the Director of the Hub or other PhD/Faculty (bio)statisticians, the individual will engage multidisciplinary research teams to provide professional biostatistical support for biomedical, clinical, and population health research. Responsibilities Data Analysis and Reporting: With some supervision, analyze and interpret data including selection and application of statistical methods. Disseminate statistical findings by formulating and presenting reports, graphical displays, and written reports for committees and scientific meetings. Educate collaborators on statistical methods and collaborate on the development of reports or manuscripts for peer‑review. Study Design and Grant Development: With supervision, participate in the development of research study designs, including selection of statistical analysis methods, sample size and power calculations, and research or project grant applications. Serve as liaison between Internal Medicine and the Hub, identify upcoming needs, and contribute to grant writing. Special Research or Teaching Projects: May conduct specialized research or teaching projects with latitude for creativity. Determine project requirements, conduct projects, report results, and publish findings. Miscellaneous Functions: Report research activities, provide professional development, and complete miscellaneous projects related to the Hub function. Other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications Master’s Degree in Statistics, Biostatistics, or a closely related field with coursework in statistics. At least 4 years of post‑degree experience in statistical collaborative work. Proficiency in at least two common statistical software packages such as SAS, Stata, R, and SPSS. Preferred Qualifications Master’s Degree with at least 6 years of post‑degree statistical collaborative experience. Practical understanding of data privacy laws, IRB processes, and certification in SAS programming or equivalent.
