Assistant Community Manager

Overview The Michaels Organization is a national leader in residential real estate offering full-service capabilities in development, property management, construction, and investment. The Assistant Community Manager, under the supervision of the Community Manager, is responsible for assisting in all phases of the operation of a property, including general administration, leasing, and maintenance. Responsibilities Perform recertification interviews with residents and complete related paperwork. Track rental inquiries from referrals, walk-ins, and phone contacts; accept, date, stamp, and log all applications. Show vacant units and market property amenities. Maintain knowledge of Accounts Payable and Receivables procedures and assist with collections. Assist with filing court documents for eviction and attend court hearings if needed. Execute marketing campaigns for leasing, including promotion, tours, and lease agreement preparation. Monitor competition and market conditions to adjust business and marketing models. Coordinate with property messaging services to retrieve messages and follow up with calls. Stay current with all applicable laws and regulations related to residential rentals. Assist with ordering office supplies and initiate, track, and close work orders using property systems. Perform additional tasks and duties as required by the Community Manager. Qualifications One or more years of experience in residential real estate management. Experience with Tax Credit, Section 8, and/or Public Housing preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required; two or more years of college preferred. Professional appearance and ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. Willingness to complete all company-required certification, training, and testing. Working Conditions Primarily an office environment, but requires meeting residents in units, showing units, and inspecting the property, often in a multi‑story facility including climbing stairs. May be exposed to cleaning solvents, paint fumes, and landscaping chemicals. Evening and weekend work may be required. Salary $24.00–$25.00 per hour, based on locality and experience.
