Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days (3x12 Hours, 7:00–19:30) | Onsite | 36 or 48 hours per week available

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-acuity Emergency Department setting, including management of admitted and ED holding patients
• Administer medications, including IV medications, following the seven medication rights
• Document and communicate clinical findings accurately and in a timely manner
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5 in the Emergency Department
• Float as needed to Adult PCUs based on staffing needs; optional float to Pediatric ED; potential float to ED Holding and Trauma based on experience
• Work scheduled weekend shifts as assigned; weekends include Saturday and Sunday for day shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state license may be pending at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Department experience required (1.5 years may be considered on a case-by-case basis)
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC (TNCC must be obtained prior to submission; NIHSS may pend until compliance due date)
• RQI certifications are not accepted in place of required certifications
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility (no local candidates accepted)
• Must participate in 2 out of 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve & New Year's Day

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience strongly preferred; candidates with 2+ years of Level I Trauma experience may be considered without travel experience
• Level I Trauma center experience preferred given the high volume of trauma and admitted hold patients in this Emergency Department
• Familiarity with Cerner electronic health records system
