General Purpose of the Position

Provides administrative and operational support to the commercial loan officer of the bank. Delivers customer service at the highest levels to both internal and external customers, which includes responding to customer requests and performing research and/or resolving customer issues. Works closely with commercial loan officer and provides telephone and in-person service to commercial banking customers.

Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

• Provide administrative support to the commercial loan officer(s) including daily contact with customers, phone support/receptionist duties, scheduling meetings/appointments, process correspondence/records and other standard office functions.
• Respond to requests for information from customers, loan officers and/or third parties.
• Process documents and assist in the coordination of the submission, approval and closing of commercial and consumer loans either independently or with the commercial loan officer.
• Coordinate and communicate with the following:
  • Closing Attorneys
  • Insurance Companies
  • Other Financial Institutions for obtaining loan payoff information
  • JSB’s Central Loan Processing Department
• Process or review extensions, renewals and modifications.
• Ensure appraisals are ordered in a correct and timely manner.
• Compile, organize and document loan file to meet commercial lending specifications and internal policies and procedures.
• Reconcile the loan file pre-closing and post-closing.
• Understand and execute federal regulations as they relate to all commercial loans.
• Maintain knowledge of and follow internal loan policies and procedures.
• Provide customers with timely and accurate customer service both internally and externally using problem-solving skills to satisfy customer needs and ensure accurate resolution to customer requests.
• Maintain updated financials for loan files.
• Process or input transactions as necessary on customer loan accounts.
• Perform maintenance to loans on the Bank’s core system as necessary.
• Process loan payoffs and release collateral.
• Maintain and track collateral, insurance expirations and construction loan progression.
• Maintain and monitor all collateral-supporting documentation.
• Maintain applicable spreadsheets and/or software programs pertaining to the Lending Operations department.
• Any other duties as needed to drive to our Vision, fulfill our Mission, and abide by the Values of this organization.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required plus 2 - 4 years’ working with commercial loans both CRE & C&I, or 5+ years working with residential loans.
• Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, and information retention.
• Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy.
• Familiar with banking regulations and responsibilities relating to each including a working knowledge of titles, mortgages, liens, and other aspects of the loan collateral position.
• Able to complete basic mathematical calculations, spell accurately and understand computer basics.
• Strong verbal and writing communication skills and organizational skills.
• Competence with computers and 10-key calculator.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure as needed.
• Self-starter, ability to perform job functions independently or with limited supervision and work effectively either on own or as part of a team.
• Ability to make sound decisions. This may include making on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank exposure to loss or fraud and the ability to think through and rationalize decisions.
• Knowledge of real estate documentation, vehicle and equipment financing and collateralization.
• Knowledge of BSA and other applicable regulations

• This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required; this would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

• This position requires math skills to calculate ratios, formulas, commissions, discounts, etc.
• Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds.
