Job Summary and Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:

Required Education: 

• Surgical Technologist: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program. 
• If LPN in surgical Technologist role: Graduate of an accredited LPN program.

Preferred Education: Associates of Applied Science in Surgical Technology 

Required License: 

• Surgical Technologist: Current BCLS certification. For individuals hired after August 1, 2007, certification is to be obtained within one year of date of hire. 
• LPN in Surgical Technologist role: current BCLS certification and current NC license. For individuals hired after August 1, 2007, certification is to be obtained within one year of date of hire. 
• Individuals hired prior to August 1, 2007 are exempt from the certification requirement. 

Required Experience: 

• Surgical Technologist: Clinical experience in training program 
• LPN in Surgical Technologist role: One-year experience in a Surgical Technologist role in an applicable acute care operating room setting or clinical experience in Surgical Technologist training program
