Program Associate

Position reports to: Program Director

Job Description

The Program Associate plays a vital role in executing Girlstart's programming by managing essential responsibilities. Key duties include overseeing materials management, purchasing, inventory tracking, shipping, and supporting various program components.

This role is primarily based at Girlstart's Austin office (1400 W Anderson Lane) with occasional remote opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee program materials, including managing inventory, purchasing, prepping, organizing, and distribution
• Supporting the creation of materials lists, pre-packing, and packing checklists
• Directing volunteers and STEM CREW, assisting with materials prep and packing
• Responsible for materials shipping to Girlstart program locations
• Maintain purchasing records to be aligned with Girlstart's budget
• Support Program Team as needed with STEM CREW and volunteer management, including supervising STEM CREW office hours, updating the STEM CREW task list, and responding to communication as needed
• Support STEM CREW with curriculum and materials questions, prep help, and general classroom management as needed

• Support or lead programs occasionally and serve as Girlstart representative at community events (virtually and/or in-person) as needed

• Support Girlstart team with office operations (office organization, volunteer support, etc.)
• Contribute to the success of Girlstart's strategic plan goals and other duties assigned as pertain to those goals

This position will also have the opportunity to work on other special initiatives and projects in support of our team and serve as Girlstart's representative in the Community.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Positive, friendly, flexible and outgoing
• Excellent organization skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Strong attention to detail and strength to manage both big and small tasks
• Self-motivated with the ability to work as a team player and foster cooperative work
• Proven track record of meeting deadlines and deliverables
• ​​Experience with Google Sheets, Zoom, and working with remote teams
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility and a commitment to the mission of Girlstart
• Reliable, dependable, and timely
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some nights and weekends, when needed
• Reliable transportation

Hours: Up to 29 hours/week; M-F (hours will be determined upon hire but typical 9am-5pm timeframe)
