Maintenance Mechanic I

General Purpose: Perform a wide range of machine, equipment, and building maintenance, repairs, installations, modifications, and general upkeep operations. Involves millwright, pipefitting, carpentry, electrical, and painting procedures. Essential Functions: Responsibilities that are requirements in order to perform the job:
Physical Demands: These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to walk and stand, use hands to handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis, and up to 100 pounds on rare occasions.
Work Environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. On occasion, the employee will be exposed to wet/humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme heat/cold (non-weather), toxic or caustic chemicals, risk of electrical shock, working near moving mechanical parts, working in precarious places, and vibration. - Troubleshoot and repair pumps, valves, motors, conveyorsystemsand pneumaticequipment.
- Preventative maintenance.
- Maintain plant facilities and physical structures
- Assistwith design,fabrication,and installation of new equipment
- Basic mechanical skills
- Ability to follow written and verbal directions and procedures
- Self- motivatedand works well in a team environment.
- 5S Experience Helpful
- Comply withall safety, environmental, and quality regulations and requirements follow thePSM/RMP
- During the course of job duties, must be able to prevent / contain chemical spills in order to ensure employee safety and protection of the environment
- Job requires the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules,operatingand maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
- This position requires the ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization
- Correctly perform basic math calculations
- High School or GED required
- 1-4years related maintenance experience
- Experience working in Manufacturing/Chemical environment preferred
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work alone and with team members
