Registered Nurse (RN) – Med Surg / Telemetry / Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute professional and clinical knowledge and skills in the provision and management of patient care as a member of the interdisciplinary team.
• Manage and monitor patients requiring telemetry, progressive care, and step-down level interventions.
• Perform and maintain competency with advanced clinical equipment including chest tubes, femstops, trachs, continuous bladder irrigations (CBIs), drains, and central lines.
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and cardiac drip medications including Amiodarone, Cardizem, Nitro, Insulin, Heparin, Dopamine, Dobutamine, Isuprel, Milrinone, and Argatroban.
• Utilize the EPIC electronic medical records system for documentation and care coordination.
• Float within the same discipline across local campuses as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of previous RN experience in Med Surg, Telemetry, or Progressive Care required.
• Active Illinois RN state license required; Iowa RN state license required upon offer.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• ACLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with chest tubes, femstops, trachs, CBIs, drains, and central lines required.
• Experience administering and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drip medications required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing contract completed preferred.
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR system preferred.
