Certified Nursing Assistant

Shift: 3 x 12 hrs. (Days, nights, weekends, variable shifts, depends on availability)

Work Location: University of Miami Hospitals & Clinics - Nursing Penthouse North UTower

The Department of Penthouse North has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Certified Nursing Assistant to work in UTower.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing for patients' personal hygiene by giving bedpans, urinals, baths, backrubs, shampoos, and shaves, and assisting with showers.
• Assisting with meals and feeds patients, ambulates, turns, and positions patients, and provides fresh water and nourishment between meals.
• Administering enemas, douches, non-sterile dressings, surgical preps, ice packs, heat treatments, therapeutic and sitz baths, and applying restraints.
• Performing sugar and acetone urine testing, specimen collection, and post-mortem care.
• Answering patients' call lights and requests promptly.
• Maintaining a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff and transporting patients and equipment.
• Reporting patient conditions to the assigned nurse to ensure professional assessment.
• Measuring and recording food and liquid intake and output, and checking and recording vital signs.
• Providing patient help with walking, exercising, and moving in and out of bed.
• Adhering to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguarding University assets.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Certification and Licensing:

• Certified Nursing Assistant and BLS certification.

Experience:

• Minimum 0 -1 year of relevant experience.
