Job Description

The YLCC Manager is responsible for all resources applicable to the Complex in accordance with policies and procedures specific to the Institute and the Corps of Cadets. They are bound to the standards of best practice and safety identified by the Association of Challenge Course Technology (ACCT). This is a 12-month, exempt, full-time position. The salary range is $60,000.00 to $65,000.00 per year. The job description is available upon request.

Tasks:

Actively Promotes the Corps-wide Leadership and Character Development Program (LCDP)

Provides experiential learning opportunities to the Corps of Cadets.

Serves as an academic instructor for cadets enrolled in the Leadership Education and Development Course and physical education, and oversees the student challenge course and facilitators.

Other duties as assigned.

The ability to obtain knowledge of the Institute’s mission, organization, function, purpose and goals, and operations.

Demonstrates the ability to positively engage with a diverse population of cadets, faculty, staff, and individuals and organizations external to the Institute.

Demonstrates the ability to communicate complex ideas in written and oral communications.

Qualifications:

Required:

Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited institution.

Bachelor’s degree in recreation or experiential learning.

Ability to acquire certification as a ropes course manager in accordance with the Association for Challenge Course Technology.

Experience working with adolescents and young adults.

Preferred:

Master's degree

Bilingual capability

With a student body of up to 1,000 cadets, NMMI provides a comprehensive academic experience complemented by Junior and Senior Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) programs. The high school curriculum is fully accredited and prepares students for higher education. The junior college program facilitates cadet transfer to four-year colleges and universities.
