TEAM LEAD - Assembly

Summary

Primary Duties:

• Coordinate daily activities within the Production Assembly department
• Support Production Supervisor
• Prepare work schedules; react quickly and effectively regarding unexpected labor needs
• Train and monitor existing and new team members
• Offer input to Supervisor when appraising performance, addressing complaints, and resolving problems
• Ensure team understands and works towards performance goals
• Recommend process improvements within the department
• Review records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures
• Maintain compliance to all company and customer policies and procedures (including safety)
• Help lead safety of all associates by doing audits, walkthroughs, and discussing potential issues with supervisors.
• Review and correct errors in daily production and quality records
• Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policy
• Study and standardize procedures for improved efficiency of the team
• Prepare reports for leadership
• Assist in maintaining the 5S of the manufacturing area
• Follow all plant rules and regulations
• Other duties as required and assigned

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• Minimum of two (2) years manufacturing experience
• One (1) year of Leadership required
• Experience in weld assemblies preferred
• PC literate with experience in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

Essential Skills:

• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ability to comprehend and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form

Environment:

To perform the regular duties of this role requires:

• standing
• walking
• use of hands to finger, handle or feel
• reach with hands and arms
• stoop, kneel, and/or crouch
• occasional sitting, climbing and/or balancing
• lift and / or move up to 35lbs
• regular exposure to moving mechanical parts

• Daily meetings with supervisors to discuss key points.

 

• Communicate with support teams.

 

• Manage production schedule.

 

• Communicate work assignments and changes to production.

 

• Ensure safety of all associates by doing audits, walkthroughs, and discussing potential issues with supervisors.

 

• Verify that qualify checks have been performed.

 

• Train and monitor new associates.

 

• Assist in troubleshooting machines.

 

• Operate fork truck as required.

 

• Monitor output of all lines.

 

• Check gauge parts.

 

• Follow plant rules and regulations.

 

• Verify 4M updates and 5S before end of shift.

 

• Run assembly machines during lunches, breaks, and absences.  This requires frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.

 

• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.

 

• Must be able to use simple tools

 

• Constant standing and walking.
