Description

The purpose of this position is to assist the RN/LPN to deliver care to our patients; stressing the importance of having the patient the center of our focus. In addition to providing patient care, the Surgical Technician will scrub surgical procedures, decontaminate the room and instruments between cases and work with the nursing staff preparing cases for the following day. The Surgical Technician is to be available for emergency surgery weekdays and weekends, as assigned. The Surgical Technician reports directly to the Department Director, OR Charge Nurse, and functions directly under the supervision of RNs in the department. The Surgical Technician has contact with neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric age patients, patient families, visitors, LRH employees, volunteers, administration, surgeons, dentists, students, and sales persons. Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this position. The Surgical Technician must be able to follow instructions of licensed personnel, cooperate with others, and exercise initiative and judgement.

Compensation Hourly Wage Range: $30.92-$42.62. Please note that final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications

Graduate from a school of technology preferred, with certification or eligibility for certification. Experience preferred. Must possess those technical skills associated with tasks of a Surgical Technician. This position also requires current Healthcare Provider level CPR certification upon hire or must be obtained within 6 months.
