Registered Nurse

Provides, coordinates, and directs the provision of home nursing care according to physician's orders. Applies nursing processes competently based on agency policies and procedures. Responsible to the Clinical Manager. Directly supervises and evaluates Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses. Requires home visits and participation in periodic office meetings. Must have reliable transportation and a current driver's license. Must carry agency-required liability insurance. Average number of patients per day is 5-8. The contractor will be assigned 5-10 patients per day, equating to roughly 6-8 points. Types of cases include Start of Care, Wound Care, and Follow Up Visits. Travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic is required. Mileage will be reimbursed at the IRS standard rate. All documentation must be completed within 24 hours of the appointment. Delayed and incomplete documentation that impacts billing and follow up patient care may result in cancellation. On-call duties may be required; specifics will be discussed during the interview. A commitment to accept all assigned patients regardless of distance is essential. Traveler candidates are expected to be flexible with scheduling and patient assignments. All applicants must have familiarity with electronic medical record systems. This position does not guarantee hours, and candidates must meet productivity expectations.
