Dispatch Coordinator

Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing transportation and logistics company based in the Phoenix area, for a Dispatch Coordinator to keep their fleet moving safely and on schedule. This is a great opportunity for a detail oriented, fast thinking professional who enjoys being the hub of communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams.

Day to day, you will juggle a constantly shifting schedule, fielding calls from drivers, tracking loads in real time, and troubleshooting delays before they become bigger problems. Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily dispatch schedules for drivers and delivery routes
• Communicate with drivers throughout their shifts to relay updates and resolve issues
• Track shipments in real time and update customers on delivery status
• Optimize routes to reduce fuel costs and improve on time delivery
• Maintain accurate records of driver hours, mileage, and load assignments
• Respond quickly to service disruptions such as breakdowns or delays
• Coordinate with warehouse and logistics staff to ensure timely loading and unloading
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies
• Prepare daily dispatch reports for management review
• Build strong working relationships with drivers, vendors, and customers

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required, associate degree preferred
• Two or more years of experience in dispatch, logistics, or transportation coordination
• Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and hours of service rules
• Proficiency with dispatch and fleet management software
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, or on call shifts
• Familiarity with GPS tracking and route optimization tools
