Teller

This position reports to the Teller ManagerBasic FunctionsProvide friendly and professional service to Bank clients by conducting appropriate transactions and relevant trouble shooting.Essential Duties1. Perform all the essential Teller duties in accordance to Bank policies and procedures:Process checking and savings deposits: verify cash and endorsements, review bank accepted identification for cash back and issue receipts of depositProcess savings withdrawals and cash checks by verifying endorsements, reviewing bank accepted identification and ensure check validityIssue personal money orders and cashier’s checksProcess ATM, incoming mail and Night Depository deposits.Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary to ensure cash limits are not exceededProcess loan payments: verify payment amount and issue receiptsPrepare coin and currency orders for business clientsProcess real estate tax paymentsProcess account closing transactionsGather CTR informationRedeem US Savings BondsRefer clients to other individuals and departments within the BankIdentify opportunities to introduce clients to Bank products and servicesBalance cash drawer2. Perform additional Teller duties in accordance to Bank policies and procedures:Process: Bond Coupons and Foreign ChecksProcess request to buy and sell foreign currencyProcess foreign draftsProcess Savings Bond redemptionsProcess requests for Gift CardsProvide transaction overrides for tellers when needed (For Tellers provided with higher override limits)Participate in the opening and closing of the Bank3. Perform departmental duties such as:Attend monthly meetingsOrder and arrange suppliesProvide input for updating Teller, Collection and Client Services ManualNonessential DutiesOther duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMaintain friendliness and professionalism through the proper use of tact and diplomacy when dealing with clients at all timesDisplay a positive attitude and enjoy working with the publicStrong verbal communication skillsStrong mathematical skills along with accuracyDetail orientedPossess a great sense of organization, priority and time managementAbility to identify, research and problem solve on a critical level and think on your feetAbility to be flexible and to multi-task on a regular basisAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentStrong knowledge of bank deposit products and regulationsCapable of performing job duties at assigned bank locationsTraining & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GEDMinimum of 1 - 2 years of previous teller experience preferredMinimum of 1 - 2 years of client services experience preferredPrevious leadership experience is preferreda plusFiserv application helpfulAdditional education and/or training helpfulCompensationExpected Salary Range: $20 - $25 per hourSalary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.BenefitsFirst Bank Chicago offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical/dental/vision/life insurance; 401(k); paid time off (PTO); and eligibility for an annual bonus.
