Job Position: Forklift Operator

Location: Valdosta, GA 31601

Pay Rate: $16.50/hr

Shift: 8 hour and 12 hour rotating shift

Description:

The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, unload, and organize raw materials, finished plastic products, pallets, and other manufacturing supplies. This position supports daily production operations by ensuring materials are delivered to the correct locations and finished products are stored and prepared for shipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts safely to transport raw plastic materials, resin bags, pallets, boxes, and finished products throughout the facility.
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and containers.
• Supply production lines with the necessary raw materials and packaging supplies.
• Remove finished plastic products from production areas and transport them to designated storage locations.
• Stack, organize, and store materials in warehouse racks and designated areas.
• Verify product labels, quantities, and pallet identification before moving or shipping materials.
• Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate material movement records.
• Inspect forklifts before each shift and report mechanical problems or safety concerns.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper material handling and pedestrian safety.
• Keep warehouse, production, and loading areas clean and organized.
• Work closely with production operators, warehouse staff, and shipping personnel to maintain efficient workflow.
• Follow quality standards to prevent damage to plastic products and packaging.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Previous forklift operating experience preferred.
• Valid forklift certification or willingness to complete company training, as applicable.
• Ability to lift, move, and handle materials according to company requirements.
• Ability to read labels, follow instructions, and complete basic paperwork.
• Experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, overtime, or weekends as required.
