Registered Nurse

Southern Health Partners Inc seeks a dedicated Correctional RN to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will provide direct nursing care, medication administration, health assessments, and chronic disease management for incarcerated adults in compliance with state and facility regulations. You'll collaborate with onsite medical, dental, and psychiatric teams to ensure quality, patient-centered care and a safe environment. Responsibilities Provide direct nursing care to incarcerated patients during the evening shift, including assessments, triage, and implementation of physician orders Administer medications, immunizations, and prescribed treatments safely and accurately, following facility and state regulations Respond to urgent and emergent medical situations, perform focused assessments, and initiate appropriate nursing interventions until higher level care is accessed if needed Conduct intake and booking screenings, including medical history, mental health risk, and communicable disease assessments Monitor and manage chronic health conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, asthma, and seizure disorders in accordance with clinical protocols Perform wound care, specimen collection, TB and other communicable disease testing, and medication pass rounds Document all care, assessments, and patient interactions accurately and promptly in electronic medical records Collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, mental health professionals, and correctional staff to coordinate and optimize patient care Support suicide prevention and withdrawal monitoring protocols, recognizing and escalating changes in patient status Provide patient education on medications, chronic disease management, and preventive health within the context of the correctional environment Maintain strict adherence to infection control, safety, and security procedures, including safe handling of sharps and medications in a secure setting Participate in shift hand offs, team meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery and facility health outcomes Required Skills Clinical assessment and triage Medication administration and reconciliation IV therapy and phlebotomy Wound care management Chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, asthma) Emergency and urgent care response Behavioral health and suicide risk recognition Management of alcohol and opioid withdrawal under protocols Infection control and communicable disease screening Electronic Medical Record (EMR) documentation Care coordination and interdisciplinary communication Knowledge of correctional healthcare standards and regulations De escalation and crisis intervention techniques Time management and organizational skills Security awareness in a correctional environment #J-18808-Ljbffr
