QUALITY ENGINEERAshland, PA$85k with benefits Medical, HRA, Dental, Vision, Basic Life, Voluntary Life AD&D, Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, Accident / Hospital Indemnity, 401k with employer match, EAP, Vacation Time, 10 paid holidays.DEFINITIONThe Quality Engineer is responsible for providing support to quality and engineering initiatives and ensure engineering and manufacturing processes are performed in accordance with customer contractual requirements, and is the leadtechnical quality professional who ensures that products meet specified dimensional, mechanical, metallurgical, and customer requirements by controlling processes, analyzing defects, leading corrective actions, and driving continuous improvement across foundry operations.SUPERVISION RECEIVEDThis position reports directly to the Quality Manager SUPERVISION EXERCISEDThis position does not provide direct supervision to any group of employees, but indirectly supervises different parts of the production flow process. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONNOTE:An employee assigned to this title shall perform a majority, but may not perform all, of the duties listed in this job description. Determine quality improvement parameters.Monitor performance of quality control systems and manufacturing processes to ensure effectiveness and efficiency. Active member of internal ISO team.Analyze data and provide focus area for process improvements.Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data; make recommendationsAid in managing workflow for RT subcontractorsEnsure M&T equipment / instruments are calibrated in accordance with calibration cyclesContribute to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed. Perform internal and external audits.Communicate process improvements to supervisors and department heads on a regular basis.Participate in developing and maintaining procedures, practices, and controls. Work with outside contractors, as necessary, to resolve any quality related issues Prioritize projects and coordinate activities with other departments and organizations within and outside the organization. Ensure proper execution of policies and procedures within areas of responsibility. Must have good attendance and be dependable. All other duties as assigned.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESBasic knowledge of metal casting processesKnowledge of NDE methodology / processes. Knowledge of ISO manufacturing methods and procedures. Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.Knowledge of business and management principles involved in resource allocation, leadership, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.Quality Control Analysis – Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance. Critical Thinking – Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Ability to use inductive reasoning to combine pieces of information to find a relationship among unrelated events. Ability to develop and prepare process documentation, technical reports, and presentations. Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisors and senior managers, as well as employees. Ability to operate a personal computer and secure information from established data processing, spreadsheet, word processing, database, and graphics programs. Ability to express ideas and communicate orally and in writing.Ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently to perform the duties of this position.
