Practice Setting and Clinical Scope As a Gastroenterologist in this well-supported practice, you will operate within an inpatient setting that provides comprehensive support for trauma and acute care. The role requires performing advanced procedures such as scoping, ERCP, EUS, endoscopy, and managing GI bleeds. You will serve a diverse patient population, including adult, geriatric, and adolescent patients, providing consultative services rather than direct admissions, supported by 24/7 intensivists and hospitalists. Schedule and Assignment Details This position demands availability for 24-hour call shifts, running from 7 AM to 7 AM, across various dates throughout the year, ensuring that the medical center maintains its high standard of care. The locum assignment spans 365 days, with preferred 7-day stints, offering a stable and ongoing engagement. The schedule is designed to accommodate flexibility and provide an opportunity to engage in a broad spectrum of clinical activities. Although there is no direct support staff for this role, you will be working alongside a team of hospitalists and intensivists who provide continuous coverage. Qualifications Board Certified in Gastroenterology, with a completed Gastroenterology Fellowship. Active Colorado Medical License or eligibility for IMLC (Letter of Qualification required). Valid DEA registration, with the ability to maintain it throughout the assignment. Proven experience performing ERCP and EUS procedures. Commitment to complete EMR training requirements prior to starting. Preference for candidates with a clean malpractice and background record.
