Estimator (Tunneling)

Job Description Job Description HiFyve is hiring for Estimators in Houston! Title: Sr. Estimator, Tunneling Location: Houston Compensation: $135k to $165k + Bonus Job Duties and Responsibilities ● Lead estimating efforts for complex tunneling and trenchless projects nationwide. ● Track and manage tunneling pursuits using business development and CRM tools. ● Serve as estimating lead for tunneling bids from kickoff through submission. ● Develop high-level execution plans and milestone schedules. ● Identify project risks and incorporate mitigation strategies into estimates. ● Coordinate with civil, structural, mechanical, and specialty teams to ensure full scope coverage. ● Review drawings, specifications, and contracts to define scope and pricing assumptions. ● Build detailed estimates using labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractor pricing. ● Prepare conceptual budgets and final bid pricing for multi-million-dollar pursuits. ● Present cost drivers, value options, and schedule logic during client reviews. ● Transfer estimate data into project budgets and cost control systems after award. ● Support post-award pricing for changes, extra work, and contract revisions. ● Maintain complete estimate backup and auditable documentation. Education Requirements ● Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field, or equivalent experience. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities ● 10+ years of estimating or project experience in tunneling or trenchless construction. ● Strong knowledge of microtunneling, shafts, and conventional tunneling methods. ● Experience with Design-Build or Best-Value procurement preferred. ● Proficient with HeavyBid, CPM scheduling tools, Viewpoint, and Microsoft Office.
