Valet Driver – SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital, St. Charles Starting pay $12 – $14 per hour plus daily cash tips. Compensation is based on the candidate’s skills, experience, education, and location. Job Summary Responsible for providing exceptional hospitality services to guests, parking and retrieving vehicles safely, assisting with luggage, and delivering outstanding customer service. Essential Functions Maintain a friendly, professional demeanor with guests, co‑workers, and clients. Greet guests within five feet, using appropriate salutations and the guests’ last names. Park and retrieve vehicles carefully, including opening doors, handling luggage, and using the valet system. Assist guests with direction, transportation arrangements, reservations, and general inquiries. Explain parking rates, issue claim checks, collect keys, and accurately record vehicle information in the system. Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles as required. Perform all functions during the entire shift, ensuring a smooth operation within established procedures. Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Valid driver’s license for the state of employment. One month related experience, training, or equivalently relevant education. Knowledge of customer service principles and personal service processes. Working knowledge of standard English, basic math, 24‑hour time, and rates. Ability to operate a manual transmission and perform parallel parking. Capacity to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly. Scope and Authority Job is routine; decisions are made within departmental guidelines and work is verified regularly. The employee has no budget responsibility. Working Conditions & Physical Demands Regularly talk or hear; frequently sit or stand for extended periods. May run, walk, climb stairs, kneel, crouch, or handle objects while outdoors. Work may be exposed to extreme heat and cold; protection provided as needed. Travel up to 5% of time may be required.
