Senior Technical Engineers/Consultants (API Designer and Developer)Location: Whitehouse Station, NJ (Hybrid)Duration: 6+ MonthsJob Description:For this position, candidate will be responsible for defining the technical foundation of our APIs, from crafting clear and efficient schemas to designing scalable architectures.Expertise in API development and design will be crucial in creating user-friendly interfaces for developers.Core Responsibilities:API Schema Design:Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into well-defined API schemas.Design data models that are efficient, consistent, and optimized for performance.Define clear and comprehensive data types, properties, and relationships.API Architecture Design:Architect secure, scalable, and maintainable API solutions.Select appropriate technologies and frameworks based on project requirements.Design for efficient data flow and handling of API requests.API Design and Development:Implement prototypes and proof-of-concepts for API designs.Contribute to the development of robust and well-documented APIs.Champion best practices in API design and development.API Management:Work closely with the API product team to define and implement API governance policies.Stay informed about the latest API standards and trends.Continuously evaluate and improve the existing API landscape.Qualifications:10 to 12 years of IT ExperienceBachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Proven experience in defining and designing API schemas.In-depth understanding of API design principles (e.g., REST, GraphQL, JSON Schema).Solid knowledge of API architecture concepts (e.g., microservices, API gateways).Experience with API development using strong programming languages and frameworks (e.g., Java,.Net, etc).Familiarity with API testing tools and methodologies.Experience with API documentation tools (e.g., Swagger, OpenAPI).Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.A passion for building elegant, efficient, and user-friendly APIs.Plus Points:Experience with API Management platforms (e.g., Apigee, APIM).Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).Knowledge of containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).Contribution to open-source API projects.
