Medical-Surgical RN - Day Shift

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract position. In this role, you will provide care for adult patients with various medical conditions, particularly focusing on post-surgical care.

Schedule

Full-time hours on a rotating day shift from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating between units may be required.

Responsibilities

• Administer nursing care to patients post-surgery, including managing pain, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Utilize specialty equipment such as IV pumps, N/G tubes, and feeding tubes as necessary.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients with diagnoses including abdominal pain, cholelithiasis, osteoarthritis, fractures, back pain, and morbid obesity.
• Document patient care and progress accurately in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, specifically using EPIC.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must have an active RN license in New York and any other active RN licenses as applicable.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical-Surgical nursing.
• Current AHA BLS certification.
• Completion of a skills checklist relevant to the Medical-Surgical specialty.
• Registered Nurse must have relevant travel experience.
• Driver's license with an address matching the demographics provided.
