Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) Engineer In this role you'll work to and designHILs and own feature testing—be responsible to create HIL(hardware-in-the-loop) test strategies, build test cases, and automatedtestscripts. Responsibilities What you’ll be able to do: Own and design the HILto supportfeature testing in Ford’s newest and novel vehicle architecture Create HIL(hardware-in-the-loop) test strategies, test cases and scripts based on internal and regulatory requirements. Set-up test equipment and run hands-on tests with the goal to automate Build newHILcapability by leveraging your electrical and software engineering fundamentals Work side-by-side with developers on the bring-up and testing of new features Support bug triage and analysis Identify gaps in test coverage to ensure no future regressions Utilize numerical data analysis tools to interpret test results Document results and provide reports Establish traceability using requirement management tools and version control Qualifications The minimum requirements we seek: 5+ years of testing and validation experience Bachelor/master’s degree in Computer Science, electrical engineering, or similar A first principles approach to problem solving Working experience with Matlab Simulink Familiar with common vehicle controls theory Experience setting up the HILondSPACE/Typhoon/ETAS/similar Knowledge of lab instruments such as DMM, Oscilloscope, power supplies, and DAQs Expertise with industry standard I/O and communications interfaces, e.g., CAN, CAN-FD, LIN and Ethernet Excellent written, visual, and verbal communication skills. Experience in Python scripting for any automation or test scripts. Expertise in testing any of the following: Vehicle Controls, Thermal Controls, Power Distribution, Body Controls Preferred Requirements: Experience withdSPACEand MotionDesk, CarSim, or similar Experience with Test management tools like DOORS/Polarion/JAMA Test automation experiencewithin aCI/CDenvironment Familiarity with diagnostics protocol like UDS ISO14229 Knowledge/familiarity of standards ISO26262 and SAEJ1772 Experience with automotive regulatory, environmental, reliability, and safety requirements.
