Summary

You will serve as a Transportation Specialist in the Command Service Branch, Command Administrative Division, and Command Operations Department of Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW), located in San Diego, California.

Duties

Help

• You will function as a Transportation Incentive Program (TIP) coordinator for the Command and as Reviewing Official (RO) for official travel vouchers.
• You will conduct a variety of tasks in the planning and execution of travel authorization, orders, and vouchers.
• You will interpret and adhere to applicable travel and financial regulations (e.g., Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), Defense Travel Regulations, etc.).
• You will use Microsoft Office Software (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel) to evaluate, prepare, and edit organizational messages, correspondence, presentations, and reports.
• You will apply fact-finding, analytical, and problem-solving techniques to resolve controversial and technical issues for assigned program.
• You will utilize web-based applications and agency specific databases to create and process travel documents.
• You will communicate, orally and in writing, to articulate, present, and promote varied ideas and issues to internal and external contacts.
• You will perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

For GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-05) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector: Examples of specialized experience include: 1) Assisting with planning, developing, coordinating, and executing both long and short range travel programs for an organization; 2) Demonstrating job-related experience of guidelines and procedures applicable to the travel function (e.g., Joint Travel Regulations (JTR), Federal Travel Regulations (FTR), and Defense Travel Regulations); 3) Receiving and processing travel documents while using organizational databases and systems; 4) Assisting in researching and evaluating information within various travel (e.g., DTS) and financial systems (e.g., ERP); 4) Using Microsoft Office Software (e.g., MS Outlook, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Excel) to prepare and edit organizational messages, correspondence, presentations, and reports; 5) Communicating, orally and in writing, to provide varied ideas and/or issues to internal and external contacts; 6) Utilizing web-based applications to create and process travel documents; and 7) Applying problem-solving techniques to assist in resolving technical issues for assigned program.

For GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. For GS-07:

You have successfully completed one full year of graduate level education with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

or

You have successfully completed a bachelor's degree with superior academic achievement with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

or

You have a combination of experience as depicted in qualifications section and education that is described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

For GS-09:

You have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

or

You have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree with a major study in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other fields related to the position.

Or

You have successfully obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.

Or

You have a combination of experience as depicted in qualifications section and graduate education that is described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
