Temporary Housekeeper

Position Overview Temporary Full‑Time Housekeeper – Physical Plant Perform all duties as assigned to maintain cleanliness and sanitary conditions in assigned building(s) and grounds. Primary Responsibilities Ensure all interior and exterior areas of assigned building(s) are clean, neat, tidy, and sanitary. Vacuum, dust, mop, wax and buff floors; clean windows and blinds; move furniture to access areas. Sanitize restrooms and replenish paper supplies and soap. Collect and sort recyclables and perform special cleaning projects. Operate motorized cleaning equipment (e.g., vacuum cleaners, wet vacs, buffers, scrub machines) and perform preventive maintenance. Strip wax, buff, and care for tile and terrazzo floors. Apply workplace safety techniques while using chemicals. Assist in setting up tables and chairs as needed. Make minor repairs and report other repairs (e.g., replace light bulbs, fluorescent tubes). Shovel snow from walkways and drive as assigned during adverse weather. Complete work assignments with courtesy and in cooperation with others, under the supervision of a Zone Manager. Qualifications Some knowledge of cleaning procedures and ability to perform medium to heavy physical work. Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team. Training and experience equivalent to the above is acceptable. Special certification may be required for certain duties. No required license or certification. Employment Conditions Temporary full‑time position. Work schedule based on departmental need.
