# AV Support TechnicianApply**Job#: 3055826****Job Description:**AV Support Technician**Location:** Charlotte, North Carolina (Onsite)Role OverviewWe are seeking an AV Support Technician to provide hands-on audiovisual and event technology support for live events, presentations, and meetings. This position is responsible for the technical execution of campus events, working across audio, video, presentation, streaming, and conferencing technologies. The role involves working closely with a small AV/Event Services team and the theater's Technical Director.Key Responsibilities* Provide on-site technical support for campus events, including the configuration, operation, and troubleshooting of installed and portable AV systems.* Manage live audio support, including microphone setup, digital console operation, and sound reinforcement. Familiarity with Allen & Heath and Yamaha mixers is preferred.\\* Operate video, streaming, and hybrid event technologies, including cameras, switching, media playback, and recording.\\* Support productions in the theater alongside the Technical Director and other Event Support Specialists.\\* Troubleshoot AV issues, perform routine system checks, and identify issues requiring escalation.\\* Assist with the transport, organization, setup, and storage of event technology and production equipment.\\* Provide professional technical support for a variety of university, performance, and ceremonial events.\\* Support the training and development of student employees through hands-on instruction and mentorship.Required Qualifications**Education:** Associate degree, vocational/technical degree, or equivalent technical training in Audio Production, Live Sound, Audiovisual Technology, Technical Theatre, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience will be considered.**Experience:** A minimum of three years of relevant professional experience in an AV Technician or Event Technology role, supporting live events and audio/video systems. Candidates must be able to operate independently in customer-facing environments.**Skills:** Strong communication skills and professional maturity are required due to interaction with executives, event organizers, and clients.
