What You'll Do

• Perform a Variety of Ultrasound Exams Conduct diagnostic imaging procedures including abdominal, pelvic, vascular, obstetric, and musculoskeletal studies with a high standard of accuracy.
• Operate Ultrasound Equipment Efficiently Adjust technical settings to ensure optimal image quality and proper documentation for diagnostic review.
• Support Patient Comfort and Care Explain procedures clearly, position patients appropriately, and maintain a caring bedside manner to ensure comfort and confidence.
• Collaborate with Clinical Teams Work closely with radiologists, physicians, and nurses to provide accurate information that supports timely and effective patient care decisions.
• Maintain Accurate Records Document findings and patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR) system in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
• Provide Patient Education Answer patient questions and provide reassurance throughout the ultrasound experience, building trust and promoting understanding.
• Ensure Regulatory Compliance Follow all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines including HIPAA, AIUM, and facility-specific policies.
• Monitor Equipment Functionality Perform routine checks on ultrasound machines and report technical issues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Stay Current with Best Practices Engage in continuing education and stay informed on the latest advancements in sonography techniques and technology.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a closely related field
• Certification & Licensure: Certified by ARDMS or ARRT (S) Louisiana state licensure, if applicable
• Experience & Skills: At least 1 year of experience in a clinical or hospital setting preferred Excellent technical knowledge of sonographic imaging and anatomy Proficiency with modern ultrasound systems and EMR platforms Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment Flexible availability, including weekends or on-call as needed
