Vice President Operations

Strategic Talent Partners has been retained by our client, an assembly and distribution business that solves workflow problems and safety issues by engineering ergonomic solutions across a wide range of industries including food, agriculture, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, cold storage, distribution, and beverage. Position Overview Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer/Owner, the Vice President of Operations will lead and oversee all aspects of operations. The VP of Operations will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of assembly and distribution processes, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of quality and customer satisfaction. The VP of Operations will be an integral part of the Leadership Team, along with the four additional leaders and will have 2 Direct Reports: Production Manager and Service Manager and will oversee IT Management. This is a full-time, in-person position based at the company’s headquarters in northwest Chicago. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Collaborate with the CEO and Leadership Team to develop realistic and executable strategic plans. Drive operational efficiency, business growth, scalability of systems and processes, increased profitability Operational Leadership Oversee and manage daily operations, including production, logistics, installation, and service, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies, promoting a safe working environment for all employees. Process Improvement Implement and maintain processes that enhance operational efficiency, inventory management, vendor relations, cost control, quality, on-time delivery, and customer satisfaction. Foster an environment of teamwork and continuous improvement. Accountability Hold the Operations Team accountable for achieving agreed-upon commitments and performance metrics. Motivate a high-performance team and attract, recruit and retain required members of the operational team not currently in place. Develop and manage operational budgets, resource allocation, and financial performance metrics to achieve or exceed organizational goals. Partner with the CEO and Leadership Team on budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning while driving cost‑saving initiatives, maximizing profitability, and ensuring operational activities support sustainable revenue growth. Technology Provide leadership and oversight for operational technology platforms, including the ERP system, project management software, CRM platform, workforce management tools, and business intelligence solutions. Manage outside technology resource. Skills and Experience The successful candidate will be an experienced leader with a history of success in the Manufacturing, Assembly, or Distribution industry. Bachelor’s Degree 10+ years leading manufacturing or industrial operations Experience scaling a privately held company Familiarity with EOS, EO, Scaling Up or similar operating systems Demonstrated success leading multiple departments Proven history of building accountability cultures It is strongly preferred that the individual have: Material handling, industrial equipment, engineered products, or custom manufacturing experience Experience reporting directly to owner/founder Our client offers a competitive compensation package made up of base, annual bonus, and benefits.
