Bring your expertise as a Registered Nurse to a rewarding contract position supporting students in a therapeutic school setting near Des Plaines, IL. You’ll maintain a homebase health office while providing on-the-go care throughout the school, ensuring the well-being of students who may need immediate attention – including a diagnosed diabetic student. Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois
• Experience in pediatric, school, or therapeutic settings preferred
• Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability and willingness to be mobile within the school as needed
• Comfortable managing diabetic care and other common school health concerns
• Ready to attend IEP meetings and provide health input as part of a multidisciplinary team

Daily Responsibilities:

• Serve as the primary health resource for the school, responding promptly to calls for assistance
• Manage student health needs, including diabetic care and first aid
• Maintain thorough and accurate health records in accordance with school policy
• Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and families to support student health plans
• Attend and contribute to IEP meetings, offering expertise in student health management
