Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Works in concert with the radiologists to obtain high quality images and provide exceptional patient care.

Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.

Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.

Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.

Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.

High School Diploma and successful completion of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program.

Registry eligible; obtain registry, ARRT-N and/or NMTCB; within the first year of employment.

Ability to successfully complete generic and department-specific skills validation and competency testing. Good communication skills. Working knowledge of various types of nuclear medicine equipment, able to adapt to new and various situations and procedures according to age of patient served. Has ability to interpret information to identify each patient's requirements for care relative to his/her age-specific needs.

Physical Demand Code: 13A, Imaging. Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand. The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs. For any weight over 35 lbs., use Safe Handling Equipment. May be exposed to radiation.
