Show Groom/Manager

Come join a beautiful farm tucked away in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Crozet, VA! Mount Fair Farm is hiring a show groom position. We travel mainly throughout Virginia, with some time spent in Ocala during the winter and the opportunity to groom at indoor finals! Requirements of the job include -being able to work in a close knit team, as well as individually -excellent communication skills -attention to detail -ability to identify lameness and locate and treat minor injuries -must be able to turn out 2 hunter show horses to a high standard -should be comfortable wrapping, lunging, and tacking up horses -must be willing to travel to the horse shows -ability to drive a truck and trailer heavily preferred but I will teach you if necessary -stall cleaning and general barn cleaning are also expected with this position -ability to lift 50+ lbs including hay bales, water buckets, and show set up This is a FULL TIME, W2, LIVE IN position. The work week is 6 days with night check 3/4 nights a week. The apartment that is included is a one bed/one bath located just above the barn! Well behaved pets are welcome, and a spot for a horse can be discussed. Salary is based on experience. There are some riding opportunities available but is not a main focus of the job.

2 weeks paid time off after 90 day trial. Sick days and personal days also awarded.
