Data Product Manager

Responsibilities Lead and inspire cross‑functional teams in creating and delivering data product solutions. Translate business requirements into detailed product specifications and technical requirements. Collaborate with data engineering, data science, data governance, and platform teams to launch data products. Partner with the Data Product Owner to define vision, mission, and strategic roadmap. Assess complex business challenges, recommending best practices to enhance and differentiate data products. Develop and maintain a product roadmap, manage backlog, and plan upcoming pipeline. Prioritize features and enhancements based on customer feedback, market needs, and business goals. Develop comprehensive documentation (user guides, technical specs, FAQs, data mapping, lineage, definitions, controls). Co‑develop the data product lifecycle from ideation, prototyping, testing, deployment, to support. Ensure products are scalable, reliable, secure, and compliant with industry standards and regulations. Define, monitor, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success. Analyze product performance data to identify improvements and optimize. Communicate product updates, vision, and metrics transparently to stakeholders. Translate complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Promote a culture of trust and accountability within the data product team and across stakeholders. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, MIS, Business Administration, or equivalent experience. Minimum six years of experience in data governance, product management, business analysis, data engineering, data science, or a related field, with at least three years focused on data products or data‑driven initiatives. Proven ability to work with multiple functional teams and engage closely with business stakeholders. Strong business presence and the ability to lead cross‑functional partners in all project phases; serve as the go‑to point person for business data needs. Excellent analytical and quantitative skills; ability to generate actionable insights from data. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills with keen attention to detail. Strong writing, presentation, and idea articulation skills. Designed and implemented frameworks, processes, and metrics for a data office or function within banking services. Deep knowledge of data technologies, integration, and architecture; familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks), and processing frameworks (Hadoop, Spark). Experience with BI tools (PowerBI, Tableau), data analytics, data modeling, ETL processes, and SQL. Knowledge of financial services processes and workflows, including card transactions, core banking deposits, loan processing, payments, and fraud management. Bonus Points Experience defining data risk and familiarity with financial services privacy and data risk standards. Proficiency with Informatica data management tools and data concept definition. Ability to lead and capture business needs. Experience advancing a bank’s data product capabilities and developing rollout plans.
